Almost Christmas!

Well, I have to say that my son being mobile has made it very difficult to get things accomplished...no longer can I put him on the floor, type away on the computer and have him stay in one spot. The other day I put him in the den to go get my toothbrush and when I came back he was already in the kitchen! Quite the curious explorer, my little one. So things are very busy at our house trying to encourage Nathan to play with his toys rather than play with power cords, remote controls, furniture that could collapse on him, etc....

Besides being a little crazy, this time with Nathan is just so much fun. Scott and I literally rush home from work just to hang out with him. He makes us laugh all the time with his facial expressions and interest in life. Eating out has even become fun so long as there is a high chair and "finger food" to keep him occupied. He talks to us a lot, but with one vowel - "AAA" - means a lot of things depending upon the inflection and volume....We recently tried formula again just as a backup option and Nathan had no issues, to my great relief. He obviously does not have a milk allergy.

Recent activity included finally meeting Amy Schmonsees as well as Nathan's first hiking trip to NJ with Sam and his parents. Nathan did so well until the end when he got sick of being in the backpack and wanted a change of scenery...I don't blame him! Today is his last music class at Gymboree and then we are off to Atlanta! I can't wait to share Nathan with my friends and family.

Lots of things to do to get ready for Christmas and for many life changes in the new year. All I know is that as long as I have my wonderful husband and baby by my side, everything is going to be all right. We are truly blessed. Nathan at 8 months!

Go Navy! 8 Months and Counting....

Last weekend Nathan went to his first Army-Navy game in Philadelphia. I am sure this will be the first of many, especially if Grandpa Wilson has anything to do with it. For his first hotel stay and football game, Nathan did great! He joined family and friends for a late dinner on Friday (even staying up without fuss until 10pm), was happy as could be at the football game all day Saturday, and even weathered bad traffic back to New York on Sunday without complaint. Mommy and Daddy were very impressed and proud of him for being so flexible! And Navy won, so it made for a great weekend.

Nathan and his six teeth are now eating more and more "big people" food. He loves to feed himself! Favorites are Gerber "puffs," cheese, black beans, rice cakes, asparagus, bananas...just about anything he can get his little fingers around. He is more and more mobile every day - now trying to transfer from one piece of furniture to another while standing and crawling all over. He keeps all of us quite busy pulling him away from dangerous objects.

Today we had a mini reunion with Oliver and Sam after three weeks apart. So interesting to see them grow and change together. Today Sam was a mommy's boy, Oliver laughed his head off as usual, and Nathan wouldn't sit still for a second! We also had a reunion tonight with Nikolas who is now six months and very alert and curious.

Tonight Nathan took his first bath in the "big boy" tub. Encouraged by Ann (Sam's mom), we decided to try it with Nathan as well and he loved it! You can tell by the picture below.

Only two more weeks before we head to Atlanta for the holidays and we are scrambling to get everything done before our trip. I am very much looking forward to the holiday with friends and family and especially Nathan. It's his first Christmas! Of course we will document it all and share it on the blog. I can't believe our little boy is already 8 months. Amazing. We are so blessed. "Why are we taking pictures when there is a football game going on?! "
